Safe and Sustainable Back-End of the Fuel Cycle (SSFC 2020)

The second SSFC conference (SSFC 2020) will focus on research and development relating to the back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle and the disposal of radioactive waste in the Czech Republic. The conference will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Economic Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament. The event is being organised by the Czech Radioactive Waste Repository Authority (SÚRAO), whose mission is to ensure the safe disposal of radioactive waste generated in the Czech Republic and which is responsible for the coordination of a wide range of related research projects. International cooperation, which will receive particular attention at this year’s conference, makes up an integral part of the multidisciplinary research of issues surrounding the design and construction of deep geological repositories.
